Life Unfiltered With Alexa

In 2011, at just 12 years old, Alexa started a fashion blog; A Life in the Fashion Lane. It became a platform for her to express her feelings around everything relating to teens, body image and mental health. A Life in the Fashion Lane was changed to Life Unfiltered with Alexa Curtis and became a lifestyle website and podcast for teens & parents discussing topics such as social media and mental health.

We dive in talking about how Alexa started her career at the age of 12. Alexa discusses what was it like as a young entrepreneur as her blog and platform grew. She talks through what she would tell her younger self if she could go back in time and what message she would give to young girls who are wanting to start a venture of their own. Alexa also discusses how she suggests girls and women stay grounded in their pursuits. We dive into Alexa’s transition focusing around teens and parents and tackling topics such as social media and mental health. Alexa shares about the Be Fearless Summit and how it got started and touches on the how teens are starting to think about college and careers. We discuss the ups and down of entrepreneurship and some of the ideas Alexa tried that haven’t worked out. She talks about how she has handled the ebbs and flows over the years as well as what advice she would give on pitching new ideas and growing your business. We discuss how as entrepreneurs we are constantly learning and figuring things out as we go. We discuss learning and education and how important that has been for Alexa’s growth.
