Jill Palese of Call to Action Clothing

Jill is the owner and creator of Call to Action Clothing, a Boston Based luxury swimwear and clothing brand. the brand exists for those with a call to action, who want to take a running leap into the pool of life and are held back by the limits of fashion as usual. Call to Action Clothing appeals to an extremely smart consumer, who is annoyed that her participation is stymied because tech lags in fashion.

Jill dives into the background on her entrepreneurial journey and what led her to create Call to Action. She touches on the clothing production process and, having been in the industry over time, what some of the things are that she has noticed needs fixing and is aiming to change. Jill touches on C2A’s commitment to sustainability and her thoughts on the fashion industry and how disposable certain products have become. We talk about the idea of slow fashion and what it means. Jill discusses her call to action in response to COVID at the beginning of the pandemic and dives into details on the launch of her swimwear brand. She talks about the foam cups that we all despise in our swimwear and how she is working to create a new solution. She also talks about why she feels that it is important for new brands to emerge in the marketplace as well as the idea of smart consumers and what their support means.

Today’s episode is brought to you by Canva Pro. Many of you know that my background is in graphic design. I currently still handle all of the design here at The Collective Co. everything from our social media graphics to our outreach templates and website design. But I want to let you in on a new tool that I’ve started using. I almost exclusively now use Canva Pro for all of my design needs. It has made it so easy for me to set up our brand elements and create templates so that when I need something quickly made I can jump right in. Canva pro is filled with pre-designed templates, fonts, graphics and even photographs that all seamlessly come together. It is one of the tools I use at The Collective Co. almost daily and I can’t recommend it enough. As a designer I almost feel like I’m cheating but it is that easy to create beautiful branded elements for your business. Head to our favorites for a 30 day FREE trial of Canva Pro!
